(1) 재질선정
for general service : Type 304 or Type 316 stainless steel / 가장 일반적으로 SS304, SS316 을 많이 사용합니 다.
for high temperature service : Type 310, Type 446, Ceramics, etc. / 높은 온도에서는 310 이나 446 혹은 세라믹 재질을 고려합니다.
for corrosive services : consult with process licenser manufacturer / 부식성 가스나 유체의 Thermo-well 설계에는 제조사 혹은 발주처와 협의하여 재질을 선정해야 합니다.
(2) 연결 방식
1) Drilled bar stock or Pipe with welded end
2) Tapered or straight
3) Flanged or threaded
(3) 설치 (일반적으로 Thermo-well 의 삽입 길이는 배관 전체 직경의 50%를 기준으로 합니다)
Insertion length : distance from free end of well to attachment to a vessel or pipe
Immersion length : distance from free end of well to inner wall of a vessel or pipe
The free end of well will normally be located in the center third of the pipe.
However, by the practical reason, well length may be classified into several types (i.e. 250mm
for pipe and 500mm for vessel).
For fire box installation, the tip should be located 3 inches approximately inside from tube wall.
Tube surface temperature measurement requires proper shield from furnace radiation, minimum
gap between tube and tip, and reducing mass at the point of measurement.
(added mass may result temperature different from that of relatively cool tube wall.)
(4) Thermo-well design wake frequency
Code : ASME PTC19.3-1974
Thermo-well shall be so designed that wake frequency (Fw) in normal operation shall be lower
than 80 % of natural frequency (Fn).
The following is calculation of Fw and Fn, also refer to ASME PTC19.3-1974.
